First UX hire within Datamole’s application development department. The position is focused on establishing a UX practice from the ground up and integrating it into the way client projects are delivered.
You will join our application development department, where we build custom web-based applications for industrial clients. It is made up of full-stack developers, project leads, and solution architects.
This is the first UX position at Datamole. Until now our engineers have handled UX themselves, on instinct, alongside writing the code. Delivery has been solid. What we have never done is invest in UX properly. There are no agreed methods, no shared guidelines, and no direct contact with the people who use what we build. Setting that up is the job. You will build the practice and use it at the same time. Building it means deciding how we do UX, writing that down, and teaching our engineers to do it. Using it means taking real work on client projects and showing the team how it is done. In the first year the emphasis is on setup. Defining baselines and best practices, introducing discovery activities into running client engagements, and taking specific initiatives yourself to show the team how the work is done properly. Once the basics hold, the balance shifts toward contributing to project delivery. The goal is a more UX-capable department, not a single person who owns all UX. You will coach engineers to do this work rather than doing it for them. Projects You Will Work On: You will work on long-term projects that our customers use worldwide, such as: 🚜 Agriculture insight application: Advise farmers with data-driven insights to optimize farm management and productivity. ☕ Coffee machine portal: Provide insights into customer behavior and enable remote management of coffee machines. 🧪Food ingredient optimization portal: Enhance food product formulations through chemical reaction optimization.

We expect you to tell us what else this work needs.
